Our library at St Lawrence is a well resourced and extremely vibrant part of the school. All children from Kindy to Year 6 have weekly library sessions. In these sessions children are taught about the various text types housed in the library; how to locate these resources through our computerized catalogue, Oliver Jr; and how to extract and present information.

In addition, children are encouraged to read a wide variety of literary texts. This is done through literature based activities in library sessions; peer promotion of good reads;  eye catching displays; and participation in events such as Children’s Book Week, West Australian Young Readers’ Book Award and National Simultaneous Storytime.
